Gary Chapman, Senior Associate Pastor

Dr. Chapman is Senior Associate Pastor at Calvary
Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC. He is responsible for Adult Discipleship, Marriage Counseling, and Pastoral Care. He
joined Calvary's staff in 1971.
Gary is a nationally known speaker on marriage and family
relationships and he regularly conducts weekend seminars around the country and overseas.
He has authored a number of books and other materials on marriage and the family.
Gary received his B.A. in Anthropology from Wheaton College
in Illinois, the M.A. in Anthropology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC,
the M.R.E. in Education Adminstration and a Ph.D in Adult Education from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He has done additional graduate
work at Duke University and the University of North Carolina on the history and philosophy
of education.
Gary and his wife Karolyn have two grown children: Shelley
and Derek.
